Jeffrey Oakman joined the Architectural Heritage Foundation in 2007 as a Project Manager. He is helping coordinate the Morehouse Bakery Building and Pemberton Mill projects in Lawrence, MA, as well as conducting financial and feasibility analysis for various other historic redevelopment initiatives. These responsibilities allow him to use and further develop his skills with team leadership, project management, and financial structuring on developments that involve significant cooperation between the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. AHF's mission of preserving and reusing historic properties to re-energize challenged cities is an excellent match for Jeffrey's strong commitment to urban revitalization.
Jeffrey has a broad background in real estate development and finance, community development, and communications. As an affordable housing finance consultant at Recap Advisors, he focused on underwriting loans for lender clients and helping owner clients complete complex financial transactions to recapitalize aging affordable properties. Prior to moving to Boston in 2006, Jeffrey spent three years as a Senior Project Manager at the New York City Economic Development Corporation. There he coordinated planning and development for a portfolio of City-owned properties and led neighborhood-based economic development planning initiatives in the Bronx, Queens, and Manhattan.
Jeffrey is a 1998 graduate of Rice University and completed a Masters of Public Affairs and Urban Planning at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School in 2003. Prior to attending Princeton, he worked at the White House for two years as a writer and editor, focusing on the communication of President Clinton's economic development and tax agendas. |
